The incredible Maul Mornie is only doing one seminar in the UK this year and it's going to be in the beautiful University City of Cambridge over the weekend of 25th & 26th August. Maul is a Silat Master from Seria, a small town in Brunei, but he now runs seminars all around the world. His YouTube channel, Maul565, has over forty thousand subscribers, and millions of upload views. Please click on the following link if you are not already a follower:  https://www.youtube.com/user/Maul565

Maul began training in Silat at the age of 12 years of age, under the guidance of his grandfather and great grandfather. Maul has also studied and trained in traditional japanese jujitsu since he was 20 years of age. He is interested in all martial arts, but more so in 'traditional' arts that tend to bring people together in mutual respect, benefit, and friendship. Maul also believes that studying the martial arts should also provide a path towards 'self development.'

Maul's open seminars (as this forthcoming one in Cambridge is) tend to focus on showing and teaching lots of techniques, whereas his closed door training sessions focus more on body and movement conditioning

As for Maul's art of 'Silat Suffian Bela Diri', the emphasis is on finishing any confrontation as quickly and efficiently as possible. The emphasis being on self-preservation and self-defence, regardless of gender, age and life style. Needless to say, weapons defence plays as much, if not more, a part of training in SSBD, as empty-hand defence.

Maul Mornie is in constant demand for seminars all over the world, which means that he has to prioritise to only conduct seminars which allow him to network with others to provide positive growth of SSBD and Bruneian martial heritage in general. You will understand, therefore, that we are extremely fortunate to be able to host him here in Cambridge, in August.
